THE 30 MOST ANTICIPATED ALBUMS OF 2013

Here's our list of the 30 most anticipated projects for 2013! Leave your thoughts below, let us know if we missed somebody or if someone should be ranked higher on the list. And just to mention, some artists were kept out of the lest due to this being mad either too close to their release date (ex. Sho Baraka, Da T.R.U.T.H, Skrip)...

30. Black Knight "Untitled Project"
After appearing on several remixes and getting a ton of nods on features last year, Black Knight is ready to drop a strong project this year. He has already released his first single this year which is called "Favor". We have seen him evolve from offering great production to holding his own on the mic, and a project will bring it all together and please his following which gets bigger and bigger with every song he puts out. And if you haven't heard his Project from last year "Break In", you don't know what you're missing.
Projected Release: Third Quarter of the year.

29. No Malice "Hear Ye Him"
Don't be mistaken, this is number 29 but a lot of us wish it would be higher. We have expressed before how big fans we are of No Malice. And we have accompanied the steps and his growth through songs that he has put out (June, Unforgettable, Smoke & Mirrors). We have even ran an editorial on this man, has our opinion changed since? Yes and no. Spiritually, we feel he is doing amazing but with a lot of room for growth, the last verse we heard made us proud. Now what he is lacking is quantity and quality, especially in the mastering process of his music, and that is why No Malice's long awaited Christian Hip Hop debut is 26.
Projected Release: Summer

28. Jahaziel "Heads Up"
We are excited as ever for this project, now not a lot of details have been revealed for this album yet. But we are expecting to see a complete and well rounded album, we have been seeing him get along really well with his label mates so features from them is a given. The last body of work from him that I personally got through completely was the "Still Livin" mixtape. This is a man that is used by the lord and a storyteller that knows his way around with words. We are expecting for "Heads Up" to have us pushing repeat on his album day after day.
Projected Release: April 30

27. R-Swift "Apply Pressure"
Its been a while since we have heard anything from R-Swift which makes us highly excited for this project. He has gained quite a bit of exposure lately, since UFC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson has used his "Awesom God" song for his entrances. The last full project we received from R-Swift was in 09' when we were blown away by the cohesiveness and strength of "Anthem". Now "Apply Pressure" is set to hurt us and also to heal, and we can't wait for the release date to be around the corner.
Projected Release: April 16

26. theBreax "Untitled"
This group right here is amazing! Ruslan has dropped a mixtape and is prepping to drop his album "Carry On". Now the last full project we got from them was "Never Arrive" which was an amazing piece of work that had everybody in the Christian Hip Hop tuned in to their mixtapes and their album. They are so talented individually, but we think this group together is better, and they're talent as a collective is insane. We would hate for a year to go by and for us not to have another theBreax album.
Projected Release: Fall

25. T-Bone "Return of the Bionic Man"
You can definitively say that the Bionic Man paved the way for a lot of artists in the Christian Hip Hop game. He didn't necessarily start the genre, but he changed it completely. Not only was he good but the quality and effort that was put in the work he did wouldn't be seen again until Reach Records came along. Everybody looked at christian hip hop and laughed at our preachy songs and our cheesy videos. We couldn't connect with secular fans, T-Bone changed all of that, and after retiring in 2006, He' Back!
Projected Release: Second to Third Quarter of the Year

24. Canon "Untitled"
Canon is talented and energetic when he is behind the mic, he brings that energy with him when he is on stage. For that we bump his music real loud! After putting out "Loose Canon" and showcasing to his fans that he has matured. We have been seeing a ton of well round feature verses that he has been offering to other artists in their songs, and we think it's not to soon to put out a mixtape that's feature heavy. He has gone on tour with Lecrae and KB, once he gets back in the studio we expect him to cook up a well done mixtape.
Projected Release: Summer

23. Rhema Soul "Untitled"
When we heard Rhema Soul's "Red" last year we were blown away. Not only because before then we weren't huge fans of the group, but also because our expectations for the project weren't that high. "Red" didn't survive that long on our daily musical circulation due to "Church Clothes" dropping around the same time. But that project was a beautiful piece of work and we expect that they drop another album this year.
Projected Release: August

22. High Society "Untitled"
Now this is one of the leas likely projects to flourish this year, but we are crossing our fingers and hoping we get this blessing before December. The only reason why we say this is because every artist on the group has a plate full, except for Sho of course. Swoope is currently working on Collision's collective album with his label mates, he has also been producing for artists here and there. We assume Suzy has been keeping herself busy with her own project which we hope we get someday, since all we been getting is features (some stronger than others). JR has also been producing, so we HOPE we can get it this year.
Projected Release: Hopefully This Year

21. KB "Untitled"
KB is one of the artists that we feel he has only showed us the tip of the iceberg. What we feel KB has to offer, is what he hasn't offered his fans much. He is a young cat, and is very motivated, he released 2 projects in 2 years. So when can expect he is cooking something up for this year, and he is on the biggest platform in the game which is Reach records. What we expect from him is a hard banging album, that holds up in the streets, that he can link up with artists like This'l and Json. He has made a lot of popular songs, and showcased his lyrical ability to an extent, we hope he can build and just put out a street vibe mixtape. We are also hoping news on the trio compilation album between KB, Trip Lee, and Andy Mineo will materialize, as of now we are just getting nods and no initiative.
Projected Release: September

20. Propaganda "Untitled"
This man is a man used by God in and outside the studio. He has devoted himself to teaching the followers of Christ the in, outs, and in between of the scriptures. He has taken words and formalized them into a manner that teaches us through music. Doctrine that we can bump to, that we can relate to, that we truly understand and can express after learning. After I heard "Excellent" last year, all my questions about Propaganda were answered.
Projected Release: Last Quarter of the Year

19. Alex Faith "Untitled"
One of Collision's secret weapon for awhile until his talent was recognized by all the Christian Hip Hop fans that circle around the internet in search of new music. His Mixtape "Honest 2 God" was incredible and amazing all wrapped into one. I feel he is ready to drop an album at any time. We feel he has the talent, he has the platform, he has the fans. What also helps is the fact that Collision has risen to be one of the best labels in Christian Hip Hop right now.
Projected Release: Fall

18. Christon Gray "Untitled"

How great was "Body Art"? In my judgement that was one of the highlights of last year. Christon Gray is a real unique individual and what he brings to the table is something we haven't seen much people do as well as he does. That is to rap and have the amazing vocal ability to sing. Which does give him an advantage over a lot of artists in the game and that is what makes him original. An album from this guy just sounds right in 2013, we hope he does not recycle his mixtape and just puts out an EP. We are really hoping for full project!
Projected Release: Winter

17. Shai Linne "Lyrical Theology Part One"

After I heard his first single, we are begin to feel that this might be going in the direction that we hope. We are big fans of Shai, but what had pushed people away from him in the past was his albums almost sounding like audio books (an opinion from a close friend). Now when ever you mix theology with a lyrically talented rapper such as Shai, you get a beautiful piece of work. We are very excited, we have heard that he is reaching out to different people this time for his collabs, which could potentially changed his sound on this project.
Project Release: Second Quarter of the Year

16. MC Jin "Hypocrite"
We got two projects from MC Jin last year. Which made us quite happy, the biggest example of a secular artist that has reached success and then found God and devoted their music to God. We have accompanied him through his spiritual growth, and we are proud to say that we really want to meet this man so we can chop it down with him about the journey he took to this moment. His testimony is incredible, but despite all that, we love his music. But we would like to also declare that something is missing, most of his songs are a bit mainstream. We are hoping he bring us a more urban/street project with Hypocrite. Lets see what happens!
Projected Release: Third Quarter of the Year

15. Andy Mineo "Heroes for Sale"
When it comes to Andy's music, a lot of care goes into his music. That reflects on every song, and a lot of people don't understand the love he has for music. They think he is a typical rapper, but in reality he is an artist, that brings thoughts into words and words into melody and music. The homie knows what he is doing behind the boards and always gives a special little touch to his own sounds. Behind the mic he is simply amazing. He has been featured in a large amount of songs lately but most is just for the hook. We want Mineo verses! Ohh and why is it 15? Well  the projects that don't have any details out yet, they give us more room to imagine. And we already feel like we have a grasp on his concept, but nonetheless this will be amazing.
Projected Release: April 16

14. Json "Untitled"

Its been a long time since we got a project from Json, he is most definitively going to change that this year. His last project was a bit more conscious than his previous. We are hoping that St. Louis based rapper will be putting out news of his next project any time now. He is overdue for another collaboration with Pastor AD3 and This'l. We hope he brings that street and urban vibe he has been bringing to his recent features. Our expectations are quite high for his next project. And we also wonder why Lamp Mode doesn't exactly put out a collective album? They have so much talent in their roster.
Projected Release: Summer

13. Eshon Burgundy "Untitled"

I can remember the first time I came across this mans music. I was intrigued by how humble this man is. He captivated us with his 10 minute song on his debut mixtape. He since has put out a great solid album, and has offered amazing features to his peers. He dabbled in the production game, which made us excited because then we would hear some self produced tracks. Except he simply used the opportunity for a side hustle, which angered us a little bit. But nonetheless he can easily spring back to action and put out a mixtape this summer with some hard tracks that we love hearing. The talent this man has is incredible!
Projected Release: Fall

12. Beautiful Eulogy "Instruments of Mercy"

These guys individually are crazy, and together they are powerful, their concepts behind music are the most complex and inspired by the lord. When we first heard them together we understand from the get go that this was a magnificent blessing. Then we got "Satellite Kite" which we bumped for weeks and still lives in our rotation. They make true organic music that serves a purpose and for that we applaud them. And we cannot wait to her their follow up project!
Projected Release: Fall

11. Reconcile "Untitled"
Reconcile is the type of artist that makes use of every talent he has. When we heard "Abandoned Hope" we truly fell in love with the project. In our opinion it was a complete album, that offered everything to everyone and just the right amount too. We have listened start to finish more times than we can count and we can say that hard work pays off. God is using this man to touch the hearts of the people that are begging for salvation but are stuck in their situations. And don't forget the bangers that this man puts out are simply crazy. We hope that this small hiatus just means he's in the studio working hard on that next album.
Projected Release: Summer

10. Ambassador "Untitled"
When we heard in early 2011 that Amba was making a comeback we got so excited and thrilled. Then the project rolled around and it seemed like he was a little bit rusty. But that doesn't mean that our fellow artist has been drained of all his status. There was a lot of pressure on his come back, and he delivered, but fans had set the bar too high and expected things to comeback quick (same goes for the da T.R.U.T.H's comeback). We feel that this time around he is much more calm and time is on his side.
Projected Release: Fall

9. Trip Lee "Untitled"
You might ask yourself, hold on a second didn't Trip retire after his last release? And the answer is yes he did, but he then changed his mind and decided to comeback. With that news also came the rumor of a collaborative album between him, Andy Mineo, and KB. But no details have been released since the project has been confirmed. But we are expecting Trip Lee to put out another album as good as his last, which in our opinion was the best as a complete piece of work. We never gave up on this man, and he has so much talent, his time to hang the mic is very and I mean VERY far away.
Projected Release: Last Quarter of the Year

8. Swoope "Untitled"
Here is the man with the runner up of the best album of last year. Swoope blew us away with his bars, production, and everything else he offered. I was a bit skeptical at first when I first heard his music, thinking he would just go on to be undiscovered talent forever. But he really set himself apart and everything he has been involved with has out out great music. We expect that his urban leader-like vibe, with amazing rhymes, and grade A self produced beats will help be a legend in the CHH game.
Projected Release: June

7. Social Club"Untitled"
Woah! Where did they come from? Yeah SCMGWP has made a name for themselves in the past year. We admired both artists and we heard of Fern before (he was one of our first posts) and we peeped at Marty Mar back a year and a half ago. But we never thought they would link and create one of the best duos CHH has ever seen, CHH isn't that lucky when it comes to duos. Their music is simply unbelievable and inspirational. Some of their themes are things that the average christian teenager need to listen to. They develop amazing music with the best of quality, which should be the standard for up and coming artist.Ohh and their vocals? It's on point, unique from anybody else CHH which makes them even cooler.
Projected Release: Summer

6. Derek Minor "Untitled"
For how long will the name PRo haunt our man Derek Minor? Other artists have done it and their previous name have been dropped from all libraries and conversations everywhere. Why can't Derek do the same? Let's talk about his music, with 3 good projects that he has dropped straight, we are expecting him to deliver a no less than GREAT project. With the banging beats and the southern style we love from him. Since he has been getting behind the tables, we have gotten a chance to hear a more complete and well rounded artist in Derek and we are super excited for his next release.
Projected Release: Fall

5. Tedashii "Untitled"
After all the features we have seen T.DOT in our blood is boiling with excitement for a full project. We have been getting appetizers and every time we get a taste it leaves us hungry for more. C'MON T GIVE US THAT ENTREE. And maybe a desert too! He has simply gone so hard on every feature which obviously benefits us and the artists whose song it belongs too. But will he have any good verses left for his album? WE SAY... YES! Tedashii will never run out of amazing verses and with this hunger that he has we are assuming that based off of the vibes from his features we are getting a street album from him.
Projected Release: July

4. Collision Records "WLAK"
Did anybody else see the moves that Collision has made in the last year and a half? They have established themselves as major label, making one of the best rosters in the CHH game. A collaborative album would be a given when it comes to ideas, the fans were screaming for it since the day that Dre was signed. Of course its a little bit tough to get them away from their busy schedules. But we believe that Collision is like a well oiled machine that has one goal, to glorify the Lord with amazing worship. So expect this project to blow you away and keep you stuck on repeat for weeks.
Projected Release: March 5

3. Dre Murray "Untitled"

Since no longer being a free agent, we can say that we are truly proud of Dre. He has a major push behind him now, and there's proof, look at the last visuals he had for one of his videos. Ever since him and Wit chopped a couple of tracks for their first mixtape, we have fell in love with Dre's musical ability. A true poet and story teller all bundled into a man of God. We expect his solo project to be a masterpiece, we do know he has gone unrecognized for a long time, but those days are long past and lets sit down and enjoy his music. Which we think could potentially snag the title of album of the year. If everyone delivers their best, we for sure 3 artists will be in the running and for sure Dre will be one of them.
Projected Release: Summer

2. Lecrae "Untitled"
This an obvious one, and the reason why he is number 2 is because he knocked himself off the top spot. His albums always deliver and brings people to Christ. We salute this man, because despite all the fame and recognition he still strong and humble under the wings of God. Now why is it number 2? Because again all of these rankings are based off of opinion, and my opinion is that his albums have a commercial feel to them, and it's made like that so it can appeal to everyone who likes hip-hop. Because of that Lecrae tends to choose more of the inspirational and mellow songs for his album. which for us is fine as long as we get the hard tracks too! If we use the past year as data, the projection for this release is 3 to 4 months after his summer mixtape.
Projected Release: Fall

1. Lecrae "Church Clothes Vol. 2"
Last year we got the best mixtape ever made by a hip-hop artist. The best producers in the business catered one of the most downloaded mixtapes hip-hop sites have come across. We are expecting that lecrae will try to make a better mixtape than last year. And he has only gotten better so we know he can accomplish that with hard work and divine influence in his music. Now who's going to be on this we aren't sure, will he chose to bring secular producers in? what about secular artists? will he finally get a DJ Premier beat? Will he link up with Statik again? What if he got a Dre beat? I think that features and production is what everybody will speculate about first, because Crayola's verses are always 10's.
Projected Release: Summer

Honorable Mention: The Watchmen "Untitled"

Everyone would love to have a compilation album with the best beats in the game, and obviously only the best artists would get to make it to the final cut! Lets see what happens when you put the three best producers in Christian Hip Hop in charge of a project. We would love to see them behind the mic also, that includes you too Wit!!
